Serie A 2026/27: The Whales Are 166–68 in Their Worst Market — $7.9M in Two Weeks as Milan Top the Table

Matchweeks 1–2 · 30 August 2026

Serie A is, by the numbers, the market our whales should avoid. The all-time book reads 939 tickets, $24.3M wagered, $18.2M returned — a settled record of 377 wins against 453 losses, the only major football competition on the site where the losses outnumber the wins. So naturally, the 2026/27 season opened with the whales betting into it harder than ever: 269 tickets worth $7,884,107 in the first fortnight — and, against every historical precedent, they are winning. The settled record so far: 166 wins, 68 losses, 12 cash-outs, with 22 tickets still pending and one void. Read that again: the room is winning seven of every ten settled Serie A bets.

The $250,000 ticket that refused to die — or live

The biggest Serie A bet of the fortnight produced the strangest grade on the board. Opening weekend, Genoa hosting Napoli: $250,000 on Over 2 Asian Total at 1.85. Napoli won 2–0 — and on an Asian “over 2” line, exactly two goals means the stake comes home whole. Graded void, $250,000 returned, nobody hurt. The same fixture took real money elsewhere: $100,000 on Genoa draw-no-bet at 2.60 died with the home side’s blank.

Juventus: the whales’ favorite ATM

Nobody has been backed more profitably than Juventus. The fortnight’s biggest winner was $238,449 on Juve at 1.10 away to Frosinone — a nervy 1–0, but $262,320 back. When Parma visited Turin on Saturday, the whales returned: $125,000 at 1.45 and $103,125 at 1.24, both cashing as Nicolás González put Juventus ahead in a 2–0 win that keeps them on six points from six.

The other paying names: $136,485 on Inter at 1.30 in the opening 4–1 over Monza, and $100,000 on AC Milan -0.5 in the 2–1 win at Torino, worth $197,000. The fortnight’s clean miss: $88,235 on the draw at 2.70 in Bologna–Lazio — Lazio won it 1–0.

Milan top, Inter even-money, and a title race with actual variance

Two weeks in, AC Milan lead the table on six points after adding a 2–0 over Venezia on Friday, level on points with Juventus. But the market still belongs to the champions: Inter — who won 2025/26 by eleven points — opened around even-money to repeat, with Napoli near 9/2, Juventus 5/1, Milan 11/2 and Roma 9/1. The early results the oddsmakers are chewing on: Roma’s 4–0 demolition of Fiorentina behind a Donyell Malen hat-trick, Napoli winning 2–0 at Genoa with Kevin De Bruyne on the scoresheet, and Fiorentina following that 0–4 with an 0–3 home loss to promoted Frosinone — two matches, minus-seven.

The whale money knows where it stands: Inter are the most-backed side (55 selections), then Milan (35) and Juventus (31) — the room is betting the top of the market, and so far the top of the market keeps paying. Sunday night brings Napoli–Como, Lazio–Genoa and Inter’s trip to Cagliari; Roma and Atalanta close the matchweek Monday.

The correction is coming — or it isn’t

An all-time 40% win-rate market being hit at 70% for a fortnight is either the whales finally solving Italy, or variance winding up a lesson. That tension is the season. It joins a heavy calendar: the Premier League’s $20M open, the US Open underway in New York, and NFL kickoff on 9 September. Every graded ticket: the Serie A hub, the all-time board, the live feed.
