The International 2026: The $446K Ticket That Paid $1.5M

The biggest Dota 2 payout this site has ever tracked did not wait for The International to start. It landed on 15 June, in the South America Closed Qualifier: $446,000 on a Team Nemesis parlay that returned $1,500,181.82. Two months later, the tournament that ticket was pointing at is live at the Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai — group stage 13–16 August, main event 20–23 August — and the main-event money has arrived on schedule: $8.0M over 230 bets and counting, with the playoffs and a best-of-five grand final still ahead.

A qualifier parlay worth more than half the prize pool

The record ticket deserves a moment, because everything about it is upside down. $446,000 went on Team Nemesis (-1.5) against Hokori — not at the main event, not even at a regional final, but in the South America Closed Qualifier in June. It is the largest Dota 2 stake in the site’s records and, at $1,500,181.82, the largest Dota 2 payout. The next day a second hidden-account ticket on Nemesis appeared: $231,763 — this time cashed out for $254,684.62 against a potential $262,587.48, paying roughly $7,900 to stop watching.

For scale: TI 2026’s prize pool starts at $1.6M from Valve and grows through in-game crowdfunding, with reported totals between roughly $2.6M and $2.9M and still climbing. One June ticket on a qualifier returned more than half of what all sixteen teams in Shanghai are playing for.

The Dota 2 betting board in Shanghai: one bettor, both sides

The Swiss group stage has produced a clear story on the server — TEAM VISION, the pre-event no. 1 in esports.gg’s power rankings, is 4-0 and first to clinch a main-event spot, while defending champions Team Falcons sit 2-2 and face the elimination round. It has produced an equally clear story on the books, and most of it belongs to a user called GoldenKot.

He opened with the biggest main-event bet so far: $280,000 on Team Falcons over GamerLegion, which paid $397,202.80. Then $250,000 on PARIVISION against Team Spirit — another win, $269,730.27. Then it got interesting. On Sunday he put $154,081 on Team Spirit against Team Resilience, a ticket still pending at a potential $228,039.88 — and followed it with $100,000 on Team Resilience in the same fixture, taking the other side of his own position. The Resilience side has already settled for $177,822.18. He ran the same play in LGD–Yandex: $36,000 on LGD Gaming at 3.10 paid $111,488.51 while his $81,696 on Team Yandex waits on a potential $129,079.68.

The tournament as a whole is running a 60.6% win rate — 120 wins against 78 losses, with 18 cashouts and 14 tickets still open. That is below Dota 2’s all-time strike rate of 67.0% across $58.7M and 2,073 bets — and even that number hides the usual catch, because the sport is still down $876,881.53 all-time (-1.49% ROI). Winning often and winning money remain different sports.

Prize pool, playoffs, grand final: the biggest tickets are still to come

Here is the shape of what’s left. The top three Swiss finishers go straight to the double-elimination main event; teams placed 4th–13th fight through an elimination round for the five remaining spots; the bottom three go home — HULIGANI, Xtreme Gaming and OG are already out. The main event runs 20–23 August, ending in a best-of-five grand final on 23 August.

The open positions tell you the money is leaning in, not out: the $154,081 Spirit ticket, the $81,696 Yandex ticket, and a $14,023.34 parlay carrying a Team Resilience leg toward a potential $126,069.85 — roughly nine times the stake. The pattern from every event we track is the same: the stakes get easiest to articulate in the bracket, and articulable stakes attract the biggest tickets. If $446,000 shows up for a South America qualifier, the number that falls during a Shanghai grand final should be larger.
