2-2-1-1-1 format explained
The NBA Finals uses a 2-2-1-1-1 home-court rotation. The higher-seeded team (better regular-season record between the two Conference champions) hosts Games 1 and 2, then the lower seed hosts Games 3 and 4. If a Game 5 is needed, it returns to the higher seed's arena. Games 6 and 7 (if needed) alternate again — Game 6 at the lower seed, Game 7 at the higher seed.
Series-level betting markets ("Championship Winner", "Finals Series Total Games", "Finals MVP", "Series 4-0 / 4-1 / 4-2 / 4-3") all re-price after every game. The biggest whale tickets typically land before Game 1 (outright futures) and after Game 5 (when the series price collapses to one side).
